In 1928, two small towns, Zebra, originally on the Osage River and named for the striped appearance of nearby bluffs, and Damsel existed here. Eventually, both were incorporated into Osage Beach. This area is also known for %u201cThe Upside Down Bridge%u201d, which is now the Grand Glaize Bridge. Unique for its time, the framing structure was underneath to offer people a clear view of the Lake.For visitors who want to shop, the east side offers excellent shopping options. Explore multiple shops at The Landing on Main Street, expert decorating ideas, trendy fashion boutiques, unique finds at antique shops and art galleries, seafood, cheese and wine specials, a mall with name brand outlet stores, and other shopping opportunities along US Highway 54 and Osage Beach Parkway.
